Tailor Rui Saegusa

nice to meet you.

My name is Saegusa and I am a tailor at The Cloakroom Tokyo.

Starting in July, we will be tailoring clothes for customers in-store. We look forward to meeting many customers in the future.

Although it will be irregular, I will be writing a blog about clothes, tailoring, etc. from now on.

As this is my first blog, I would like to start by talking about my thoughts on Bespoke.

What kind of image do you have of Bespoke?

We talk with our customers and take into account their lifestyle, the situations in which they will wear a suit, what they like about the suits they normally wear, and what bothers them, etc. We then create patterns from scratch for each customer and tailor the clothes.
I'm not very good at talking, so I would be happy to listen to everyone's stories together with Shimada.

These days, I feel like we are living in an era of fast fashion, cheap suits, mass production, and mass consumption.

A feature of Bespoke is that the seams are hidden so that the size can be adjusted to fit your body. Even if the suit is too tight, we can alter it to fit your body.

Although it may be a counter-intuitive way of thinking in today's world, we would like to propose that you can wear one piece of clothing for at least 10 years.

From now on, I will be delighted to be able to do my beloved tailoring work in front of customers, and will continue to work hard every day.
