Cork-soled sandals are a familiar sight in Central Europe. Originally a favorite model of medical workers, these sandals fit the feet well and are comfortable to wear. They are accented with a rounded toe cap and thick rubber sole that can be worn like a shoe. The model name comes from the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia. This is a PETA-certified vegan model.

MADE IN SLOVAKIA

NOVESTA was quietly founded in 1939 in the historic industrial district of the small town of Partizánske in the former Czechoslovakia, BATA Industrial Park.
This shoe factory, specializing in rubber and canvas products, has consistently produced genuine Slovakian footwear since its founding, including military, work, rubber boots, and running shoes, through the historical course of World War II, the post-war Cold War, the socialist era, and the division of the country.
In 1992, one year before the division of Czechoslovakia, NOVESTA, a purely Slovakian sneaker brand, was launched, which has become famous as one of Europe's leading factories in the half century since its founding. Since then, NOVESTA has continued to grow as an original brand while also promoting various collaboration projects with brands from around the world.
NOVESTA continues to create handmade sneakers that retain the European delicacy and rustic texture of Eastern Europe.
